TeleVideo Thin Clients now Supporting USB Floppy Disk Drives

Widely available and inexpensive floppy diskette storage solutions made possible through software support for external floppy disk drives San Jose, CA

August 30, 2001 - TeleVideo, Inc. (OTC BB:TELV), today announced it is offering a solution for floppy disk drives to connect to TeleVideo thin clients. All TeleCLIENT Windows powered thin clients will include embedded software at no additional cost to allow optional external floppy disk drives to easily connect through their USB port connection. Models such as the new LCD TeleCLIENT TC7370 and the TC7010 are now shipping with this added capability.

IT administrators in environments such as education can now offer end-users a portable and cost effective storage solution for TeleCLIENTs. By enabling floppy disk drives to seamlessly connect, end-users can use standard 3.5-inch floppy diskettes that are widely available and inexpensive for their portable storage needs.

End-users can easily access the floppy disk drive by selecting the A:drive icon to access and save files. IT administrators can also remotely manage groups or individual TeleCLIENTs for floppy drive access by controlling whether or not the A:drive icon is displayed or not. A simple and quick administrative function for added security.
