TeleVideo's Thin Client Terminals Incorporate Windows CE Operating System.

TeleCLIENT Windows-based Terminal Users Gain Access to Business Applications and the Internet

SAN JOSE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 19, 1999--TeleVideo, Inc. (OTC BB: TELV ), announced TeleVideo's licensing of the Microsoft Windows® CE® operating system for its TeleCLIENT(TM) family of thin client Windows-based terminals.

Windows CE gives the TC7000, TC7150 and TC7170 server-side access to popular Windows-based business applications such as the Microsoft® Office suite, Java, as well as the Internet. Windows CE, along with the RDP or ICA® protocols, enable the TeleCLIENT family to seamlessly integrate with Microsoft Windows NT® Server 4.0 Terminal Server Edition or Citrix' WinFrame.

``It is no secret that Windows-based applications are the de facto business standard today,'' said Dr. K. Philip Hwang, chairman and CEO of TeleVideo, Inc. ``By incorporating Windows CE into the TeleCLIENT family, we deliver the benefits and competitive advantages that only server-based computing can provide, with access to the applications organizations need to run their businesses efficiently.''

``In licensing Windows CE and supporting Microsoft's leadership position in the server-side computing market, TeleVideo is delivering a powerful line of thin client Windows-based terminals to meet the growing demand in this market,'' said Dave Pollon, Thin Client Product Manager at Microsoft Corp. ``Microsoft is excited to partner with TeleVideo, a company that has been developing and delivering terminal products to the business market for more than 23 years.'' TeleCLIENT Windows-based terminals are easy-to-use and lower the cost of network administration by centralizing administration, configuration and distribution of application software. TeleCLIENT offers organizations flexibility in a complete workstation that increases network security and productivity.
