Fortress Technologies Inks Co-Marketing Partnership with TeleVideo to Provide Best of Breed Wireless Security to Healthcare Markets

Companies Ensure Patient Record Privacy and Hardware Flexibility in Wireless Healthcare Market

TAMPA, Fla.– June 16, 2003 – Fortress Technologies, the market leader in securing wireless LANs, and TeleVideo, Inc. (OTC BB:TELV), a leading manufacturer of flat panel desktop and wireless tablet Thin Clients, today announced that TeleVideo will endorse and co-market Fortress Technologies' line of AirFortress™ products. Together, Fortress Technologies' wireless security solution and TeleVideo's TeleCLIENT Thin Client hardware will offer a compelling healthcare computing solution based on stronger wireless security and increased hardware reliability. The partnership enables TeleVideo to promote to its customers government-endorsed FIPS-validated wireless security solutions as well as leverage Fortress' established and growing base of government and healthcare customers for co-marketing opportunities.

By 2004, according to Gartner's Healthcare Business IT Summit, more than half of all U.S. hospitals will have installed wireless LANs in at least one department. Therefore, the need to access patient information securely, instantly and easily has propelled the demand for secure wireless networks in healthcare. This has resulted in higher productivity, reduced costs, increased flexibility and a superior level of patient care. The Veterans Administration (VA) made a strategic investment to secure wireless LAN communications in 167 hospitals and medical centers with AirFortress products.

"TeleVideo's Thin Client computing products are proving to be the devices of choice for a growing number of global customers with a semi-mobile work environment such as the VA," said John Petrone, vice president of worldwide sales. "Partnering with Fortress strengthens TeleVideo's position in these markets and allows us to maximize wireless security with our wireless-enabled Thin Clients from one location to another, patient care applications and accurate medical information to all authorized staff no matter where they're located in the wireless network."

Fortress Technologies' line of AirFortress products provides a complete solution for today's wireless LANs, combining best-of-breed privacy, authentication and access control into a single offering. Servicing a wide range of computing products including Thin Clients, laptops, PDAs and other devices that run on Windows®, Windows® CE, CE.NET, DOS and Palm™, AirFortress products can operate on any wireless network and be deployed with any access point, regardless of manufacturer. This allows organizations to achieve the highest level of security without having to replace any existing equipment.

“Wireless users want secure and managed access over any network, anytime, anywhere and from whichever device they choose,” said Willard Thomas, vice president of sales and business development, Fortress Technologies. “AirFortress delivers unprecedented strength of Three-Factor Authentication. This approach, unique to Fortress' wireless security gateway, enforces secure access at the network, device and user levels.”

Fortress Technologies has achieved market leader status through deployments with Tampa General Hospital, Carolinas HealthCare, U.S. Army, Department of Veterans Affairs, U.S. Air Force and numerous commercial/enterprise customers. TeleVideo TeleCLIENT thin clients continue to be deployed globally and domestically in healthcare ranging from university hospitals to government environments such as the Department of Veterans Affairs as well as large retail, manufacturing and gaming applications.
