TELEVIDEO TEAMS WITH NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR TO DELIVER NEXT GENERATION THIN-CLIENT SOLUTIONS

MediaGX™ Processor Gives Power to TeleCLIENT Line of Windows -Based Terminals

SAN JOSE, Calif. - May 18, 1999 - National Semiconductor Corp.® (NYSE: NSM ) and TeleVideo, Inc. (OTC BB: TELV ), today announced the introduction of TeleVideo's TeleCLIENT™ Windows®-based terminal, based on National's integrated MediaGX™ processor.

In addition to the MediaGX™ processor, other chips from National include the 5530 companion chip, an audio amplifier, and a variety of additional analog parts. The National solution helps make the TeleCLIENT one of the fastest, most powerful, cost-effective Windows-based terminal available today.

"The MediaGX processor is supplying the processing power that makes TeleCLIENT amongst the fastest line of Windows-based terminals," said Kevin Yang, vice president of marketing at TeleVideo, Inc. "National's solution satisfies our customers' needs for fast processing power, while enabling us to deliver the most cost-efficient solutions for the thin-client market."

"TeleVideo is a pioneer in network computing and is well positioned to deliver the functionality, flexibility and computing benefits that the thin-client market demands," said Ziv Azmanov, business unit manager at National Semiconductor. "Our MediaGX-based solution is optimized to deliver high system performance, at low-cost and low-power. Teaming with TeleVideo confirms our position as the leading provider of integrated silicon solutions for the emerging Thin-Client market."

National Semiconductor and TeleVideo have worked together to develop and deliver the TeleCLIENT line of high-performance, cost effective Windows-based terminal solutions. Configured with a highly integrated processor from National, the TeleCLIENT TC7000 has outperformed models from TeleVideo's competitors in head-to-head tests. TeleVideo's Windows-based terminals continue to give IT organizations the power and tools to lower the cost of doing business by minimizing the administration and maintenance costs associated with their network environment.

The TeleCLIENT TC7000 is one of the fastest, most powerful, cost-effective Windows-based thin client solution for education, healthcare, government, retail and other task-oriented client/server based network computing environments. The TC7000 is loaded with Microsoft's Windows CE operating system, that allows quick and easy installation to business critical applications and offers cost benefits to server-based computing through centralized administration, configuration and application software distribution. The TeleCLIENT TC7000 has no local storage device, floppy drive or CD-ROM, providing more security than a PC. Eliminating the local storage device enables system administrators to keep confidential and business critical files and data on the server, preserving data security and integrity.

Pricing and Availability

The TeleCLIENT TC7000 is available now worldwide through TeleVideo's worldwide network of resellers and systems integrators. Suggested list pricing for this version of the TC7000 is $599.00.
