TeleVideo Powers TeleCLIENT Thin Clients
With Microsoft Windows CE.NET
San Jose, CA – September 6, 2002 – TeleVideo, Inc (OTC BB:TELV), a leader in Thin Client hardware and software, today announced it is offering the Microsoft Windows CE .NET embedded operating system software in its latest TeleCLIENT Windows-Based Thin Client Terminals.
New versions of Stand-Alone, Integrated LCD and Wireless Web Tablet Thin Clients will include the Windows CE .NET or Windows CE 3.0 operating systems.
TeleVideo supports Windows CE .NET for a number of new and improved features that will allow for greater end-user experience. Features such as RDP 5.1 will allow Thin Clients to display high color, stereo audio support and COM port redirection. In addition Windows CE .NET based Thin Clients will feature the Internet Explorer 5.5 browser for enhanced web browsing and offer greater support for a wider range of USB drivers and printer support.
Windows CE .NET also supports 802.11b wireless LAN and smart card support with greater integration for easier set-up and installation. TeleVideo has also included in all its TeleCLIENTs, built-in biometric security software that will make integrating third-party biometric devices easier within a Thin Client and Windows CE .NET environment.
