TeleVideo Releases TeleCLIENT Windows-Based Terminals with Microsoft RDP 5.0
SAN JOSE - September 26, 2000 - TeleVideo, Inc. (OTC BB:TELV) today released the TeleCLIENT Windows-Based Terminals with RDP 5.0 support. RDP 5.0 will be included in the entire TeleCLIENT product family, including the TC7000, TC7100 and TC7300 series of thin-clients.
Microsoft RDP 5.0 further separates the TeleCLIENTs from teh competition by allowing for local printing via the RDP protocol. Previously only available via the ICA protocol, the RDP 5.0 allows administrators to configure TeleCLIENTs with local printers. "Many users prefer printing locally, versus sharing a network printer. Now all TeleCLIENTS include Microsoft's RDP 5.0 as a standard local printing through RDP." stated Chang S. Lee, Director of Software Engineering for TeleVideo. Furthermore, the inclusion of RDP 5.0 makes every TeleCLIENT compatible with Microsoft Windows 2000 Terminal Services.
